My first impression of this story is that it wasn't going to be something I would enjoy reading but I was quickly surprised by how much more of olive's life I wanted to learn more about. What would happen to her best friend George? Would he make it back from the war with her prized pigeon? The cover was pretty nice and kind of gives you a starting point to what olive may look like and of her surroundings. I would really enjoy learning more about olive and her pigeons and the rest of her family and town.
