First and foremost, I'd like to state for the record that I am very fond of pigeons. I think they are precious and love to see large flocks of them when I visit big cities. So, I was instantly interested in this book for that reason alone.
The writing in this excerpt was wonderful, striking a nice balance between modern and maintaining an edge of history. I'm already enjoying the main character and want to read more of her story.
