Fits the description of a cozy mystery perfectly. You know how this book is going to end based on nothing more than the cover art and there is really nothing TRULY at stake for our lead.
Overall I think people who are into the genre will like this book but people who are more into writers with a little more grit should avoid this series otherwise they will be disappointed.

Also, question, this book is set in the countryside of England during WW2 and even though we have the whole carrier pidgeon plot, everything seems well, sunny and carefree....There is something that rubs me wrong about books set in this time period, in an area that's being bombed, and everyone is just kind of ignoring it? I think that's the reason why the protagonist pissed me off. Yes, your pigeons are required by the military in WW2 and you whine about it? For real? Ug.
