starts with a brutal betrayal - hopefully gets cheerier

That betrayal was brutal and had me cringing with secondhand embarrassment. I'm not sure how I feel about the rest of it yet -- I have a feeling I'll like it a lot better once we meet Milo. I would have liked to see a bit of that in the sample, though.

The cover is warm and inviting, and it makes me think the mood of the story will shift once she reaches New York and encounters Milo.
