I am not much for the stories of Hollywood, and its eternal drama, but this book actually shows the humanity in the celebrities. How even the super rich kid with mega famous gradma, and the king and queen of documentaries as her parents, still has insecurities, and deal with uber shity friends. In the first bit, when the main character was being interviewed at a panel of a film festival, it reminded me of a youtube video where celebrities react to meat other really famous celebrities, and their freak out reactions.

After the backstab, by the jealous friend, it delves into the main characters humanity, and uber depression. Her manger definitely steps up and became her support (her parents are terrible and deserve the bird from the main character as she leaves with her manager (which she does not do, sad to say)). Initially I was hoping for a redemption arc with the friend, and I am not opposed to that happening, but I would like even more for there to be a friendship growth arc between her and her manger.

There are always stories about Hollywood people who have massive issues and freak outs and serious drama, because of this reason or that. And a lot of that I often don't have to much sympathy for, (which can be unfair or extremely unfair on my part, (because Hollywood life is by no means easy) but not always) this book does a very good job of telling a story like that, that actually grounds the Hollywood person and reminds the reader that those people have hope and dreams and fears too, and that they are very valid. They might not be super relatable to everyday people per say (or they might be idk) but this book does a very good job of reminding you that they are human too.
