(Spoilers!) So I read this cute novel in one day. That in and of itself is a testament to Spencer's talent. It was such a fun diverting read with just the right amount of romance. I really hate it when authors use sex to sell a book, and Spencer did not do that at all. It was perfectly placed in the plot so as to highlight key aspects of characters and also their relationship. Gabe and Dru had me banging my head against the wall for their inability to get together, but it was all part of the ride. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite troupes, so I really did love the fresh take on their relationship. It was also full of engaging elements with the almost duel and kidnapping. And the cliff hanger at the end of the book has me wanting to know more.

Characters were well developed with their own personal baggage and the plot was engaging. My only criticism would be the lengthy asides each character had, particularly Gabe. He would disappear into his past quiet frequently and he was always pulled up by someone repeating something to him. It happened enough that it became bothersome. It would have been nice to get his past story through different means. Otherwise, I recommend this book for romance lovers, but be warned some scenes get super steamy. So if you're into clean romance this is not for you.
