I am not a huge regency reader, but I was excited to give it a shot with this one. I do love romances and period pieces, so I figured I couldn’t be too far off here. The plot started out pretty well, fun crushes, extravagant parties. I could picture everything. What I did not love were the characters. They didn’t feel too strong and I couldn’t feel myself rooting really for any of them. Dru was a bit irritating for me. The writing was pretty good. While it didn’t completely hold my attention, I understood what was going on and got a pretty good picture of it all. I think what really drew me to this book as well was the fact that this one is the beginning of a new series and that was extremely intriguing for me. I would not say this is one that I will be adding to my recommend list. For something light and easy that is more of a ambient reading hook, then this may be good for that!
