I love reading retelling of fairy tales and that is exactly what this book gave me. Filomena, the main character, at the beginning was scared at everything because of her protective parents then become braver throughout the book. She gets suck in in her favourite book series, knowing all the characters are real and all the fairy tales too.
The action-pack adventure keep going, not letting anyone take a breather. Not even me. The way Filomena and her new friends each have their own personality make the story pop out as if I was also there. Especially between Filomena and Alistair, they were like siblings, the brother always bothering the sister.
The writing stay was easy to follow the flow of the story. Some of the lines were a bit cheesy that I had to put the book down every now and then. It was really such an adventure to experience. Definitely getting the second book.
