Wow! So where do I begin? When I read the first impression, I fear I might not like this book further on even though I liked the first few pages. This is not my typical genre and I thought I'm too adult for this haha! But when grabbed the arc (and I just had time to finish it now), I finished it in just two days considering I am a very, very slow reader.
I love this book maybe because I relate to the character on so many levels (her being a big book fan, facing bullies, and wanting excitement in a sleepy small town—yep, I remember being in the same position 10-15 years ago). I like how the protagonist is multiracial and her adversaries are very much valid, realistic, and relatable. I enjoyed this so much and if I did (I'm in my late twenties btw), I'm pretty sure many tweens will love Filomena's adventure.
