Never After is a good YA book that I read in a sit. It was a smooth, easy ride through fairy tale land that made me love Filomena. I think the message of seeking refuge in books is very relatable and being able to become part of the story could be a dream come true. I think it could have been good with its own fairy tales, instead of referencing the well-known ones. Although, I must say Gretel turned into my favorite fairy tale character. A fashion designer?! Yes, please! Even though that was kind of reused, the author was able to turn it into a captivating book. You just have to let yourself go on the ride. Perfect for a feel good Sunday read. It doesn’t leave you with that awful cliffhanger feeling and all the questions are answered, which I like, especially in sagas. It sets you up for the next book without sacrificing anything pertinent to this story.
