The story follows Filomena Jefferson, who is a huge fan of the Never After book series that rushes to the bookstore to get the thirteenth and final book of the series only to discover the author has been dead and her estate has been publishing the books because they cannot locate someone. Filomena then is followed by someone resembling the hero in her books finds herself in the book's world for real! The plot itself reminded me a lot of Land of Stories, but I was still interested in it throughout. It was fast-paced and engaging, rarely slow, so I found myself very focused while reading. She is a really interesting protagonist of the story, and I found myself rooting for her early on. She does have flaws, but I felt as if she still rose up to plate to save Never After. I rated it four stars because although I enjoyed it, I constantly found myself comparing it to the Land of Stories series.
