What instantly drew me to check this book out was the author. I adored Mellissa De La Cruz's Descendants series, so I knew I just had to check this book out. I love middle grade fantasy and the fact that this is real life mixed with fiction is so cool. The main character, Filomena, is very spunky and determined, I like her mindset and her backstory is interesting. I'm dying to find out who's following her at the end of the cliffhanger on Chapter 2!
