It seems like a super interesting premise, but it would be better if it got yo the inciting incident faster. I read it with my daughter and we were both expecting the big reveal to happen within the sample. Its beautifully written but it seems to flowery for a middle grade crowd. It might be better with more dialog and action in the opening chapters. Filaments voice is great though.
