What a ride!
Wow just Wow! This book hooked me in from the beginning!! A quick and easy read, but held my attention the throughout. When Claire's son dies at the young age of 8 years old of mitochondrial disease, she told herself she wouldn't have any more children. She couldn't go through a loss like that again with the risk of another child passing from disease. That's when Dr. Robert Nash enters... giving the possibility of having a baby with three genetic parents? This would 'supposedly' eliminate the risk of any heart defects.
How is that even possible? Is it even legal? I'm going with no and when the wrong person finds out all starts to unravel. Years later and families destroyed, a crazy person is on the loose. I think this is the first book I've read about a genetically modified child with three parents and it was to say the least intriguing. I will say though, while the science aspect fades towards the middle/end of the book - it does still hold true to a good thriller.
