This is an interesting thriller with a hefty dose of ethics woven in. Is it wrong to mess with an unborn embryo if you can prevent disease? Death? Claire had a son who died at eight years old of a genetic disease he inherited from her. She wants to be a mother again but is terrified of dooming another child to the same fate. She learns of secret and illegal research through an online support group and is willing to do anything it takes to have a healthy child. This book was riveting and also truly fascinating. The ethical questions left me continuing to think about the issues long after the pages were done. The characters were perfectly flawed, realistic, and the story is well written. I highly recommend this one.
