After suffering the loss of her son, due to genetic traits she passed along, she was afraid to have any more children. And understandably so. But that didn't stop her or her husband from wanting more. This is when things start to get interesting. Claire is so desperate for another child that she goes to a doctor that has some unorthodox methods. When Claire becomes pregnant with her daughter Abby from what the public receives as illegal conception, Her and the doctor go into hiding. Leaving his assistant Julia to deal with the aftermath.
The story is told from three point of views: Claire's, Julia's, and Claire's daughter Abby's. The story is definitely full of twists and turns along the way. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
