Claire lost a child due to a genetic mutation. Now she wants the chance to try for a healthy child. She seeks out a well known fertility doctor and his assistant to create a baby with three genetic parents. The story flips back and forth in time from conception to 10 years later when Claire and her family are on the run. This book may not be the most intense one I have read but it is one of the most interesting. I like that we get to know each character’s perspective on this illegal experiment. It is a good take on ethics and science. Of course every good thriller has to have a psycho stalker and an innocent young girl and a man who has been manipulated! The story does make you think about how science could eradicate inherited diseases.
