What an exciting, wild ride. I have to be honest and say this is definitely not my typical read, but I am so glad I did! I really loved the originality of this and the science fiction aspect was astounding.

I think having this told from 3 different points of view made this such an edge of your seat read as well. We have Claire’s POV the mother who is doing everything in her power to protect her daughter. During Claire’s POV we not only get present, but the past as well and what really happened. Next, we have Jillian who was one of the scientists involved, I definitely think seeing her side made it creepier for me. She was only out for herself and couldn’t see any other way. Lastly, we have Abby, sometimes she came off annoying, but it was understandable because her whole life is/was a lie.

I really enjoyed this fast-paced read. I was caught off guard with the ending, but in a good way. Leading up to the end was so suspenseful it was killing me; I could not put this book down.

The science part of this had me wondering whose side I would be on. Ethan’s who totally believes you should never try to modify genetics or Nash whose whole life is making sure people can have kids, even if that means genetically modifying them. I really enjoyed all the characters (not Jillian though) and even though sometimes their actions were a little unbelievable and cheesy I think this is a 4 star read.
