this book starts out packed with mystery from the very start. we don't actually know how the son died or how michael comes into the story as the patriarch but you certainly know you will find out. i want to turn pages. i am eager to know what will finally happen when j and abby's mom finally reconnect. my first impression of the book is that we will spend the whole book in suspense, waiting for j around ever corner. and abby's mom will get deeper into her seclusion as abby grows more angry about not having a more normal life. the plot is a fresh ideal. i'm in!
