Throughout Claire's perspective, I was absolutely entranced with this story. It presents such a gripping, creepy concept that had me on the edge of my seat. However, when the narrative slipped into Abby's perspective, that interest began to easily wane. I just didn't feel like her perspective was authentic. It is clear that the author's intention was to make it youthful and spunky, but it felt in-genuine to me instead. In addition to her perspective, her characterization and actions felt off to me as well. It was as if the author forgot how children actually act or behave and decided to go with an over-zealous stereotypical depiction. Unfortunately, such a depiction really threw me off.
