I really liked the premise of the story and that paired with the opening really drew me in to the book! I’m already hooked and rooting for the protagonist to escape J. Although I am curious to see what J’s next step will be. I did think it was a bit odd that the author gave the 10-year-old a POV. I’m not sure yet if that appeals to me or not.
