I had heard of this book ages ago, when it first got its book deal, got excited, and then forgot all about it. So getting to read an excerpt was beyond exciting. It drew me in immediately, and I shouted, 'aw, come on!' at the screen when the PDF ended. The writing style is tense and interesting, and lends a sense of immediacy and urgency to the book. The opening bits of plot were so tantalizing. I'm dying to know what happened. I can already feel the book's tension building.
I also love how the book features a book within a book, like two of my favorite books, Gone Girl and Station Eleven. It already draws some interesting parallels and the reason for the main character's misfortune owes to this book. I love that dynamic already and cannot WAIT to read the full novel!
