Intriguing Concept that didn't capture my interest
I received a free advanced reading copy in exchange for an unbiased review, and unfortunately I just didn't connect with this story at all and did not finish it.
Loosely connected to the "Slenderman" myth and the local (to me) Wisconsin story of two girls claiming they stabbed their friend after being told to do so by Slenderman, this story is told in the POV of the girl who survived a similar incident and a hidden conspiracy that comes to light.
I found the main character compelling, but then she is plunged into a variety of crazy scenarios that would have been best solved by contacting the police right away. I am not really a fan of this trope, and I was fearing the main character would have some sort of relationship with her slightly creepy upstairs neighbor. I did not find out.
