Mister Tender's Girl has that classic thriller feeling or horror movie setting that makes for the perfect unsettling read. It begins in a coffee shop with the protagonist, Alice, lost in her own thoughts. There is that immediate connection with the character and a longing to understand her and learn her story. I found the writing to be detail-heavy, but it flowed smoothly and set the astrosphere for the world-building as well as Alice's personality and quirks.
After reading this, I immediately added it to my to-be-read list because I didn't want the preview to end! This was based on the slender man trails and I really look forward to reading more and seeing what ultimately happens in Mister Tender's Girls.
