Alice was stabbed and left to die when she was a teenager. The twins who attacked her were classmates who insisted they did it for Mister Tender who just happens to be a character in a book Alice's father wrote. When Alice's parent's marriage falls apart, Alice gets a fresh start and a new name in the U.S. But the past has a long reach and Mister Tender isn't done with Alice.
I thought this was well written and it held my interest from page one. Alice hasn't gotten over the attack, but she has managed to create a life for herself where she feels relatively safe. All that changes though when she is contacted by Mister Tender. There were numerous twists and turns, short chapters that flew by and though I didn't love the ending, there was quite a bit that I did enjoy. The author managed to get under my skin and as I was home alone the night I read it, I made sure the doors and windows were locked. My favorite author list just keeps growing and Carter Wilson is now certainly on it.
Thank you, Mr. Wilson, Sourcebooks Landmark and Bookish First for the copy to read and review. What's not to love about winning a book giveaway!
