Grabs on quickly
Sometimes I can be greedy with my reading time. I set aside enough time to read at least 100-150 pages. All I got with Mr Tenders Girl was 30 pages. Even though it was a free excerpt I feel cheated because I didn't get more. Very little dialog so it's more of a stream of consciousness. What little dialog there is seems to fit the main character's (Alice) personality, or lack thereof. She's been traumatized by an attack as a young teenager. Maybe unresolved PTSD. She's become closed off.
Carter Wilson writes well. The description of feelings and place come through well.
Cover doesn't work for me. I get the ripped picture look implies an attack but it is lacking something.
