What a deliciously eerie teaser of an opening this was! I already like Alice - neuroses and all - and am exceedingly creeped out by the potential of the story... I really enjoy the story-within-a-story construct, and am curious to see how much of Mister Tender goes in that direction. This one's definitely on my To Be Read list now!
