This author is new to me. I loved this book so much. It was moving, heart warming at times and sad at others. It was hard to put down I just wanted to learn more about the family, what was going to happen to the characters. It was such a dysfunctional family but you can really relate to the family because everyone has a some what dysfunctional family. From the first page the author really brings you into the story. The characters have their own flaws and that makes you able to really connect to them. I love that it takes place over years and that it dosen’t feel like you have even missed anything when it jumps back and forth in time.A beautiful and gripping literary character study of one family in a once-forgotten town, learning the meaning of family and the bond of its secrets. This fictional family will stay with you long after you have read this book. It’s a must read.
