Small Town Drama
I received this book for free from Bookish first in exchange for a free and honest review.
Over all this was a pretty solid 3 star read for me. This novel is very much outside of my comfort zone, I have always been more drawn to plot driven stories, and this book was very much a character driven one. That being said, I did find that the prose of this book was beautifully written. Each of the characters were distinct and each carrying the weight of their trauma. The story weaved a very complex family drama of people who both loved each other, but constantly hurt one another.
My biggest draw back was the multiple perspectives and non-linear timeline. The first perspective seemed to last for quite a while, so I found it a bit odd when the perspective changed, and then with the perspective shift came a shift in the timeline. There were a couple of instances where the story had jumped back in time, and I didn't realize it.
