Loved it!
There was so much going on in this book. Family dynamics, secrets loyalties and brotherhood commitment abound. I was caught up in this book as soon as I started it. The dynamic of the characters was illustrated raw and in depth. The character, Marley was so relatable. I also loved how there was a bit of mystery with the revelation of a dead body in a church attic. I felt like the disagreement between Waylon and Baylor was so typical of brothers and the question of Shay’s sexuality added a different twist. Elise is the only character I didn’t find relatable but I guess she had to be the standoffish mother to survive with a war tarnished husband and three sons. I just wish she and Marley were able to find common ground. There was some back and forth with time and I felt it was necessary to set the scene and not confuse the reader. All in all, I enjoyed this book very much.
