I read this one all the way through the writing style was choppy and seemed written for more of a young adult level. The story and the characters were developed well, so you could picture each of them throughout the story as they aged.
The story itself was sad I thought. It just seemed like a family saga/ drama that never got any better with age. I had to finish it to see who would get out of the small town or make something of themselves, or simply be happy but that never really happened. It was written more like a real like story and sometimes those are hard to read because they are to real and not an escape. I typically like the escape side of reading to try something different or new. I was glad to read it though and I also I listened to the audio and it was done well. The book is a quick read and if you like small town dramas then this one will be for you!
