This one was definitely a slow burn. It was good overall. Marley was for sure much more grown up than most 18-19 year olds. I can see why she wanted so desperately to be a part of a big family since she grew up with just a mom (although for being such a loving mom, I can't imagine she would have really left her pregnant teenage daughter to move hours away for a new job). I loved the progression of Marley & Waylon's marriage, fairly accurate for a couple that meets in high school and grows up together, and as fast as they had to no less. I liked the glimpses into Shay and Baylor's thoughts at the end. Wish we had gotten some from Mick as well, even though he was highly unlikable. Did he love his wife or not? Elise would have you believe he didn't at all. My biggest gripe was how abruptly this book ended. My last page was Marley and Shay talking at the hospital while Baylor was in what appeared to be a days long surgery, and so not having a wrap up or epilogue was frustrating. Otherwise this was a good family drama that showed a lot of growth for Marley and the Joseph brothers.
