It is the 1990s and Marley West has moved to another small town with her single mom Ruth. When arriving, she is drawn to the Joseph family and it's secrets, loyalty, and complicated sibling relationships. Unlike the other towns, her ties to this family change the course of her life.
I enjoyed this book. It was slow going at first, but got more interesting a few chapters in. The character development in this book was well done. I mostly kept at it because I liked the characters a lot! The relationships between Marley and the Joseph family, the Joseph brothers, and the brothers and their mother are all intertwined and more and more is discovered as you continue reading.
I have to say, family dramas are not normally what I read. That being said, I liked this one because even if it was a slow start, I liked the story and wanted to know what happened.
