I am so glad I read this book. I think it's in my top ten favorite books of all time. This book will have you on an emotional roller coaster in the best way. Exploring a single family who is well known among the community and finding out the darker side of the seemingly beloved Mr. and Mrs. Joseph has me questioning my own family dynamics. Like many say, you have no idea what others are going through, and this became very true as I read more and more of Mercury. Everyone has a secret in the Joseph family and it's tearing them apart. There are allies and enemies within a single household and seeing the character developments throughout every chapter was such a satisfying experience. After I opened this book, I could not put it down and I read it in two sittings. Overall, it was a fantastic book and I highly recommend for anybody who loves a good novel.
