I was really taken by the cover of this book, because the imagery of peeling paint is so evocative. In a town setting, it often symbolizes the deterioration of the town, like it's becoming run down or abandoned--and often it symbolizes that it was once thriving, but now things have changed and the paint is peeling with no one bothering to fix it.
