I like the simplicity of the cover, which seems to reflect the bleak tone of the story. The writing is engaging and drew me in. I liked the way the author painted a vivid portrait of man in silent reflection. But then I felt there was a bit of a character dump, introducing too many at once. This is probably a story that would take a bit for me to settle into.
