*Thank you to BookishFirst for this copy of Luck of The Titanic foe Review*

Luck of The Titanic by Stacey Lee was a heartbreaking and emotional read until the very last page. The story centers around two twins Jamie and Valora Luck who are circus performers hoping to make it in America.

They have faced relentless discrimination in England due to being Chinese. Which I cannot believe ever happened to a group of people. The most shocking realization though is that discrimination of this kind continues to this very day. Valora believes that convincing her brother Jamie to preform for the 👩‍✈️ of the Titanic will provide their ticket into America.

They weren’t even allowed on board due to The Chinese Exclusion Act a horrible law that prohibited any Chinese individual from seeking entry into The United States. When Val is denied entry on board the ship she disguises herself as a powerful aristocrat in order to be let on board. To find het brother Jamie her plan is to convince him to preform for the influential Ringling Brothers in New York.

They would be a success! Their dreams and goals for the future are forever altered though after the events of April 14th, 1912. The ending was so heartbreaking I loved the story though about the undeniable bond between siblings.
