I read and absolutely loved Stacey Lee's first novel, The Downstairs Girl, and The Luck of the Titanic proves to be just as wonderful, if not better! Lee has a gift of making history come alive. She brings to life the people who have been left out of the history books and deserve their stories told. Even after only this first look, I am dying to follow Val's journey, even as we know it leads to tragedy. The book opens with an epigraph stating that 6 of the 8 Chinese passengers aboard the Titanic survived - clearly putting us all on edge to discover which characters won't make it!
