The Vietnam War went on for 4 years. The TV show MASH went on 16. I feel this way about the Titanic trope. If we counted up the books based on the sinking of one single ship, I guarantee it would be more than the number of people who actually set foot on that voyage. It's not a comment on the writer or the writing, but I would not buy another book based on the Titanic.
