From my first impressions of the book, I think it is going to be amazing. I love how it started as a poem that directly impacts the book. I am a fan of historical fiction, especially in England, but the characters are very white. What I loved about this book is that it had a POC as the main character, and I feel like I can relate to Valora, and the struggles she faces. I really like the writing style of this book, because the author uses a lot of descriptive words, which really help me imagine the surroundings better. I also really like Jamie, and I feel like the bond between Jamie and Valora is a very realistic sibling relationship, because all siblings love each other but fight occasionally. I love the cover because I think that books with drawings instead of pictures on the cover are really good. I also love the colours used on the background, and how it is ombre.
