So my very first thought (upon reading only the title and before I read the first look) was something along the lines of "do we really need another fictionalized account of the sinking of the titanic?". And, after learning more about this book, the answer is most definitely yes. I loved that the description noted the limits on immigration and hope the book will look more closely at race and the us in 1912.
