Wow, I guess we've come that far haven't we? I used to find myself reading books as a form of escaping reality, but now fictional authors are including excerpts from the pandemic times, which we are all currently struggling through thanks to the Omicron variant.

I do remember when the outbreak first exploded in Kentucky and seeing how friends and family, and even just the general public reacted to the outbreak, definitely helped me to regain my stability a bit. Reading about it in a contemporary romance, or could I call it a Historical Fiction book, is interesting to say the least.

From what I remember, the UK got hit pretty hard at first, and my Husband and I live in a quiet suburb, so we didn't really experience the full-blown panic that a busy metro-city would undergo. With Lockdown on London Lane, I got to live vicariously through these characters' day-to-day lives to see how the pandemic altered their lives, and it was definitely an interesting angle.

4/5 stars. I'll definitely be recommending this book to my friends and book club partners.
