London Lockdown gave me a lot of the same feelings (undertones specifically) to our own pandemic that is actually still going on haha. While I have found plenty of novels that feel right to this experience, I was not a fan of this one. It felt awkward and just not my style. Maybe it's because of the trauma but a romance in the midst of the pandemic is just not something that I can get behind quite yet. I'm really hoping it's everyone else's cup of tea, especially because this could help some people.
Plus, I know plenty of relationships blossomed during this time. To be honest, I think Omnicron is just sucking the life out of me, so i did not want to be reminded of this in literature. LL was just a case of bad headspace, bad time while reading, so I hope other readers go in with the headspace to handle it. One day maybe I'll pick it up again when this is all gone and over with.
