When I read the first few lines of this book I thought I was going to be reading a who dunnit. But that is clearly not what this book is. At the beginning Cohen steps into a spill of blood in which his father’s body lies. Unfortunately, this story line is not addressed any further. This book is more an investigation into the fracturing of a family and a father and son and the possibility of repairing. The author is very talented when he stays on point. For me, however, there were too many deviations. As much as the writing held my interest, I finished a 400 page book in 4days, it still was a disappointment for me. Because there were too many story lines that weren’t completed, I can’t give a higher rating. There were many 5 star reviews but unfortunately not from me.
