I thought the premise sounded interesting, and the book started out supporting that. However, it didn't last.

I thought there would be a good amount of suspense, but the author didn't maintain it throughout as I'd hoped. A good portion of the book (at least the first half) was family drama, and there wasn't much shocking or overly dramatic about that.

As I read, I found that some things in the book blurb were a bit misleading. There wasn't as much focus on Cohen in relation to his father's injury. I thought there'd be more about the investigation into that injury than there was.

There were moments when I was engaged, thinking things were taking a turn, but it never really panned out for me. It was a little better near the end, but it was almost too late by that point.
