In this first impression, we meet Cohen as a man and as a boy. There are hints of many things about him and his father and the relationship between them. As I read, I was a bit bored, thinking this book was overly descriptive and not something I would be interested in. But then when we reach the point where Beth calls, we learn that things are not what they seem, and I want to read more, right now!
