I thought the cover was very attractive and caught the mood of the book well. This book is about a dysfunctional family a Father who was a Mortician and a Preacher. A stern, unsmiling Mother who wrote the Father's sermons. An older daughter who learned to sit perfectly straight and still in the church as was expected of her. A son who was unable to please his Mother. I got the impression that the Father was unfaithful and the wife/mother left the family. The main gist of the beginning of this novel was the son thinking his father is dead and instead of calling the police he leaves. He expects a co-worker, Beth, to find him. She does but he isn't dead and she calls an ambulance. I wanted to find out what happens next. Does the father wake up and know the son left him? I would like to read this novel. I'm surprised it is a YA because I am finding it so interesting.
