Light From Distant Stars starts with the impression that a son is standing over the dead body of his father. How the body came to be in the family morgue remains to be seen. Why is the son so ambivalent about his father's death? Did he do it? Or just happen to walk in on a horrible accident? Given his earlier argument with his father, the son's hesitation at reporting the death seems reasonable.
