I think I'm going to pass on this one. The mystery element of it is interesting and I felt like the way the sample ended had me wanting me to know more but at the same time, I wasn't really enjoying what I was reading. I found the chapters set in the present time interesting enough but every time the narrator flashed back to the past I really didn't like those chapters. There was something offputting about the tone and way some things were described.
