This sample was okay. The back flashes seemed out of place, especially since they related to a small thing that happened within the story. They related to a one line instance.
The cover doesn't seem to match the story at all. It's very prety and well put together, but the story doesn't fit.
The only reason why I would want to read more is to find out what the father remembers and what the father did to deserve the son trying to kill him.
